DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATIVE DENTISTRY & ENDODONTICS
Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics is the branch of dentistry which aims to save the natural teeth of adults. The broad scope includes simple and complex restorations to dental pain management of pulpal and periapical diseases by root canal treatment. It is further extended to periapical surgeries, management of traumatic dental injuries, tooth reimplantations and esthetic interventions that increase the functionality and longevity of natural dentition.
This department of AGDC & IGMH is privileged to be pioneer amongst north-east region for adopting the medical model for management of dental caries henceforth reducing the future disease risk levels. The root –canal treatment is done as per international standards using advanced equipments. It is well equipped to handle the dental traumatic injuries as per IADT guidelines. The Vital pulp therapies and regenerative stem cell based endodontic therapies have also been introduced for the first time in Agartala. Overall, it aims to provide a holistic care to public while acquainting the students with the procedures preserving the natural dentition of adults.
